The Karachi Stock Exchange announced that the benchmark KSE-100 index had been recomposed with effect April 1, 2010.  As a result of the recomposition, Pakistan Cables has now been included in the KSE-100 index.

Pakistan Cables is proud to announce that it has won the "Putting the Consumer First Award".  The Award Ceremony was held in Karachi by Helpline Trust.  Helpline Trust is an institution that works for good goverance, health / education improvement and consumer rights.  According to Helpline Trust, Pakistan Cables has won this award because it has demonstrated considerable commitment to its consumers, as well as the community within which it operates.

Pakistan Cables launched a consumer promotion scheme, in which customers will have the chance to win cash prizes.  All Pakistan Cables general wiring single core items will come along with a scratch card through which customers can win Rs. 10,000, Rs. 1,000, Rs. 500 and Rs. 200.

Pakistan Cables is proud to announce that it has satisfactorily complied with all the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 for all its products (Cables & Wires, Aluminium Sections, Copper Rod and PVC Compound). This achievement underlines Pakistan Cables' commitment to professionalism. Pakistan Cables was amongst the first 5 companies in Pakistan to be ISO certified and was the first Pakistani cable manufacturer to achieve ISO 9001:2000 certification in 1997.

Pakistan Cables held seminars for dealers and electricians in 11 cities across Pakistan during November 2009.  The company used the opportunity to appreciate over 60 of its best performing dealers and also to provide details to electricians about the various benefits of utilizing Pakistan Cables.  Functions were held in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Hyderabad,  Abbottabad, Sialkot, Sarghoda, Jhang, Sukkur and Rahimyar Khan.  These seminars are part of an on-going effort by Pakistan Cables to educate retailers and electricians about the advantages of using good quality cables.  Over 1,500 people attended the events. 

Pakistan Cables participated in the Build Asia 2009 exhibition held at the Expo Center in Karachi.   Build Asia is the largest exhibition in Pakistan for the construction industry.

Pakistan Cables has launched another Consumer Promotion scheme, in which all general wiring single core items contain scratch cards with the possibility to win 11 watt and 18 watt energy savers. 

Pakistan Cables participated in the IAPEX 2009 exhibition held at the Expo Center in Karachi.  IAPEX focuses on building and construction material and is held annually by the Institute of Architects Pakistan.  Pakistan Cables's received the honour of winning third best designed stall.

HVSC-Rawat, Pakistan’s most prestigious electrical testing laboratory, has approved Pakistan Cables’ 300mm2 3 Core Al / XLPE/ PVC / SWA / PVC 8.7 / 15 kv cable in a rigorous type test.  Pakistan Cables is the first cable manufacturer in Pakistan to have passed this test on the very first attempt.

Pakistan Cables announces its second Consumer Promotion for the year and its largest consumer promotion to date.  All Pakistan Cables general wiring single core items will come along with a scratch card.  Consumers will have a chance to win motorcycles, generators, tvs, dvd players and other great prizes.

Pakistan Cables announces a Consumer Promotion in July 2008.  This promotion will include gift items with all general wiring single core items.  Gifts will include table clocks, wrist watches, wallets, extension cords, torches, calculators and key chains.  Pakistan Cables expects the gifts to benefit electricians and consumers.

Pakistan Cables is proud to announce that it was named amongst the Karachi Stock Exchange’s Top 25 Companies for 2007, coming in at 6th position for the year.  This is the fifth time that Pakistan Cables has won the award.

Pakistan Cables held a function for its dealers in Lahore in order to give away prizes to the winning dealers from our March 2008 trade scheme.  Prizes included motor cycles, televisions, deep freezers, fridges, TVs and DVD players.  The grand prize, given away in the form of a lucky drawn, was a Suzuki Mehran car. 

In April 2008, Pakistan Cables began producing cables for the automobile industry in Pakistan.  These cables are used in the assembly of wire harnesses for OEMs and are manufactured under JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards).  Specifications include AV, AVS, AVSS and AVSSH. Pakistan Cables Auto Cable plant has state of the art machines, including Niehoff wire drawing and bunching machines and a Tecnocable extruder.

In April 2008 Pakistan Cables inaugurated its own 2 megawatt gas fired tri-generation power plant.  This plant allows the company to be self sufficient for its energy needs and will assist the company in meeting its efficiency requirements.  The power plant utilizes GE Jenbacher turbines.

Pakistan Cables’ PVC compound plant became operational in April 2008.
The plant produces flexible PVC compounds for insulation and sheathing of electric cables.  Pakistan Cables uses the most sophisticated machinery, including automated weighing and dosing systems for each component of the various formulations.   The centralized control system allows for user-friendly operation of the whole plant while maintaining accurate control of each component.  Our plant also has a polymers laboratory to enable the development of customer specific formulations.

Pakistan Cables’ PVC compound plant will ensure timely availability of raw materials for production, providing the company with improved control of its manufacturing process as it continues to expand.  In addition, it will allow the company to service its customer’s requirements for flexible PVC compounds.
