manufacturing of General Wiring Cables with Natural Rubber
Insulation.
1961:
Introduced
General Wiring Cables with PVC insulation for the first time in
Pakistan.
1968:
Established
Power Cable Factory for manufacturing of Low Voltage Armoured
Cables up to 3.3 KV for the first time in Pakistan.
1968:
Installed
2000 tons Aluminum Rod Extrusion plant with German technology.
These rods are used to manufacture Power Cables and Overhead
Conductors.
1974:
Manufactured
Field Communication Cables for use by Pakistan’s Armed Forces.
1978:
Received
the Top 25 Companies Award from Karachi Stock Exchange.
1979:
Launched
Aluminum extruded sections comprising pipes & curtain railings
for use in furniture & domestic hardware items.
1980:
Received
Top 25 Companies Award from Karachi Stock Exchange.
1982,

Corporate Excellence Award by Management Association of Pakistan.
Awarded to the 6 best managed companies.
1984:
Established
Anodizing Plant for manufacturing of Aluminum Doors & Window
Sections.

Manufactured
Medium Voltage XLPE cables and launched KEMA type tested 15 KV
cables for the first time in Pakistan for supply to KESC.
1990:
Launched
co-extruded, skin coated General Wiring Cables for the first time
in Pakistan to combat counterfeit cables.
1996:
Setup
a state-of-the-art plant to manufacture High Conductivity Oxygen
Free Copper Rod which was supplied by Outokumpu Castform Oy,
Finland.
1997:
Became
the first ISO9002 certified cable manufacturer in Pakistan.
1998:
Received
Achievement Award for outstanding performance in 1996-97 presented
by the President of Pakistan.
2000:
Pakistan
Cables was the first cable manufacturer to be certified for ISO
9001:2001 and to date is the ONLY cable manufacturer in Pakistan
to be certified for the 2000 version.
2001:
Launched
LV XLPE cables fully type tested bye KEMA for the first time in
Pakistan.
2003:
Introduced
powder coated Aluminum Profiles.
Commemorated 50th Anniversary.
2004:
Achieved net sales of over Rs. 1 billion.
2005:
Achieved net sales of over Rs. 2 billion.
Received Top 25 Companies Award from Karachi Stock Exchange for
the year 2004.
2006:
Achieved net sales of over Rs. 3 billion.
2007:
Achieved net sales of over Rs. 4 billion.
Received "Brands of the Year Award 2006" for Wire & Cables &
Copper Rod.
Received "Best Corporate Report Award 2006 (Position IV in
Engineering. Sector)" from Joint Committee of ICAP and ICMAP.
