manufactures products in accordance with National and International Standards.Cables are
type tested in-house and by external laboratories.15kV XLPE cables produced by Pakistan
Cables have been type tested at KEMA Laboratories, Holland.
Pakistan Cables is ISO 9002 certified company and
therefore, all personnel are trained, motivated and instructed to fulfill all requirements
laid down in the Quality Assurance Standard. PCL has adequate resources essential to
implement the quality system and to achieve its quality objectives as out lined in its
Quality Policy.
To ensure adequacy and effectiveness of the quality system,
management review is carried out periodically on a continuing basis. The Steering
Committee undertakes the management review on a quarterly basis which comprises of the
Chief Executive as its Chairman along with Marketing Director, Technical Manager and Works
Manager as its members. The decisions of this review is recorded and implemented by the
concerned manager.
The maintenance of the quality management system is
achieved through the Internal Quality Audits.The main purpose of the Quality Audit is to
take necessary corrective action to eliminate deviations and further improve the system.
The Quality Control Programme
for Electrical Cables at PCL comprises of receiving
Inspection and Testing, in process Inspection and Testing
and final Inspection and Testing.Quality Raw Materials
are procured from prequalified reputable sources world
wide. These are subjected to tests in our well equipped
laboratory before releasing to the Production Department
for use. As the objective is to prevent any nonconformity,
considerable portion of inspection man hours are spent
on the production floor where quality is build into
the product.The responsibility of producing quality
product lies with Production Department which exercise
adequate process control . The finished cable is then
subjected to tests as per standards.
Pakistan Cables also maintain a complaint handling
procedure which involves the Technical Manager, Works Manager, Marketing Director and
Chief Executive. Each complaint is promptly investigated and corrective and preventive
action taken.
